Harvest Festival at the Farmers' Museum

From 10:00AM to 5:00PM

A perfect blend of new attractions and trusted favorites make the 36th annual Harvest Festival the most entertaining celebration of fall in the area. Live performances, family activities, crafts, demonstrations, and storytime. Animals are always a large part of Harvest Festival. Take in the whole museum on a horse-drawn wagon ride. Marvel at demonstrations of dog obedience and agility. See cuddly alpacas and watch their agility in an obstacle course. Many artisans show-off their skills; learn from blacksmithing, printing, spinning, and fiber art demonstrations. Harvest Fest includes the chance to help with harvesting potatoes, beans, corn, and hops. Children enjoy agricultural activities that include corn shelling and grinding. They can also enjoy the Children's Barnyard. You'll even watch apples pressed to make fresh cider. An abundance of delicious foods from the season's harvest.

Book Signing

From 1:00PM to 3:00PM

My name is Heidi Sprouse and I am a wife, mother, and teacher at Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Central School. For 20 years, I have dedicated my life to helping others realize their potential. Now, I'm trying to do the same for myself. 11 years ago my father died from cancer and I turned to writing. After three years of struggling to find a publisher, my first book, "All the Little Things" was published. Since then, I've gone on to publish "Lightning Can Strike Twice." I write stories about small town men made extraordinary by their actions and circumstances and the women who love them, stories that honor roots, family, and strong values. My mission is to spread the word about my books, prove to my students that they can make their dreams come true, and let adults know it's never too late to write the next chapter in their lives. I'm having a book signing at Mysteries on Main Street in Johnstown.
