The St. Johnsville American Legion, 38 West Main Street, has scheduled sign-ups for the 2018 Legion baseball season . Area players between the ages of 13 and 19 are invited and individuals interested in coaching are also welcome.

As a way to encourage local children to read as well as learn to cook, The Jack and Mo Cooking Show and Treehouse Reading & Arts Center, have a cooking demonstration of a fast, easy, inexpensive, and tasty meal from a cookbook, which is also for sale in the store. Additionally, customers who donate slightly used children's books to the Literacy Coalition of Herkimer and Oneida County EZRead Bookshelf program will receive a free recipe and a store discount. If you’re a snowmobiler and want to have some fun, put on your bathing suit....yes, your bathing suit, and join the annual winter FUN fundraiser for HALO: “Snowmobiles And Bathing Suits!” Snowmobilers pay a dollar a lap—while wearing their bathing suit—and ride around the track 3 times. The public is welcome to watch the fun. It’s put on each year by Howard & Diane Chapple, at 293 Elizabethtown Road in Ilion. There’s a 50-50, and please bring a cat food or litter donation.
